Is Adventist Robotics ending after next season?

No. We are looking forward to continuing to provide quality robotics experiences for Adventist youth!

I heard that FIRST LEGO League is ending. What does that mean?

FIRST and LEGO have announced the conclusion of their partnership following the 2026–27 FIRST CANOPY/BIOGLOW season. FIRST will continue to deliver high-quality robotics programs under a new name for students in grades 4–8, along with introducing a new experience designed for students in Pre-K through 3rd grade.

We have been briefed on FIRST’s process to develop this new K–8 robotics experience and appreciate the thoughtful and intentional approach being taken. We are confident that this careful work will result in a high-quality, engaging program that effectively serves K–8 students.

How does this impact Adventist Robotics?

Adventist Robotics looks forward to continuing its strong partnership with FIRST. As a transformative program, Adventist Robotics goes beyond building robots—fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving skills that prepare students for success in any future career path.

What are BIOGLOW Founders Edition and BIOGLOW Future Edition?

The Founders Edition represents the game experience we know and value. Adventist Robotics will utilize the Founders Edition exclusively at our tournaments during the 2026–27 BIOGLOW season.

The Future Edition, by contrast, introduces a new LEGO product and represents a distinctly different program. It is not supported by Adventist Robotics.

Can we continue to use the SPIKE Prime robot?

Yes. FIRST is committed to allowing the SPIKE Prime robot through at least the 2028-2029 Season. However, during the 2027-2028 season, FIRST will begin transitioning to a new robotics platform.

I want to start a team in the 2026-27 Season. How can I get a robot if LEGO is no longer selling them?

Please email info@adventistrobotics.net, and we will help you get a robot for your team!

What is the new robotics platform that will replace LEGO?

FIRST is evaluating age-appropriate robotics platforms. Stay tuned over the next 12 months for details about the new program.

When will registration open for the 2026-27 FIRST CANOPY/BIOGLOW season?

Registration will open in late June. If you register, then you will have your materials in early August.

Can I keep my team number?

Yes, FIRST LEGO League Founders Edition teams can keep their existing team number by renewing their team registration on the FIRST Dashboard.

When are next year’s tournaments?

Tournament dates can be found here: Calendar – Adventist Robotics. These are subject to change as the sponsoring organizations finalize their calendars.

How can I get the latest information from FIRST as soon as it is released?
